Colleen D. Lewis, LAc, has been delivering acupuncture in the River Valley Area for 18 years. She has a private practice in Spring Green as well as working with the UW-Madison Integrative Health and on campus at the UW-Madison University Health Services. She attained a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. Her professional education included a minimum of 2000 hours of classroom and clinical training along with a month-long internship in Guanzhou, China. She passed a National Board Exam for state licensure.

Does it hurt?
Most people experience little or no sensation when the pins are inserted. Some people are more sensitive than others to the needles. Different brands of needles will be tried or magnets used if the sensitivity does not go away.
How many sessions will it take to “cure” me?
How many treatments needed to clear a complaint depends upon how severe it is and how long the condition has existed. Sometimes it depends upon what has already been done to treat the issue/s.
Does my insurance pay for it?
Check with your insurance. Recently more companies are paying for this service. You pay for the service at time of treatment and will be given a bill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
