The Myths of the Fire and Murders at Taliesin in 1914

August 15, 1914 was the day of one of the most horrific crimes in Wisconsin history. On that day, Julian Carlton, a servant of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, set fire to his home, Taliesin, and brutally attacked the people there during lunch. He ultimately killed seven, including Wright's partner, "Mamah" Borthwick.

As the murderer died before a trial could be held, Taliesin's 1914 fire and murders have been subject to myth almost since they occurred over 110 years ago. Taliesin's historian, Keiran Murphy, will reveal the myths about these murders to try to show the truth of what may have happened that day.

The presentation will be 45 minutes with 15 minutes for questions.
