A Hero's Journey: Writing Workshop for Veterans

All veterans have stories to tell. Some of us do not want to tell them, while others need to tell them. I am a veteran and a writer and wish to help veterans tell their stories by utilizing Joseph Campbell’s depiction of the Hero’s Journey.

We meet one Saturday a month; there will be writing exercises, lessons, videos, and a chance to share and reflect on one another’s work. The course will culminate on Veterans Day weekend with a reading of your favorite works, and perhaps, if inspired and conditions allow, a performance on Alley Stage on the beautiful Shake Rag Alley campus.
